Ellen Dymphna Cusack was born at Wyalong N.S.W. She was one of Australia's most prolific and translated writers. A "joint autobiography", entitled Dymphna Cusack, was written by her husband Norman Freehill using Dymphna's tape - recorded reminiscences. (Published by Thomas Nelson in 1975).
